Outreach is an essential ministry of First United. In His commission to the disciples, our Saviour instructed them to “…go unto the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled” St. Luke 14:23. The church of Jesus Christ is still required to carry out this mandate in the 21st century.

As a part of our endeavors to fulfill our purpose of filling the house of God, First United engages in monthly evangelical outreach. Not only are tracks with information pertinent to salvation distributed, we also engage in prayer and testimonials to encourage the hearts of those who are weary. Other outreach endeavors include participating in a Thanksgiving Challenge. Members at First United donate non-perishable items and distribute them in areas of great need within the community. This activity is a means by which the church fulfills the responsibility in feeding the poor, and those who participate find true satisfaction. As a body of believers, we understand the gospel is hid to those who are lost, but we must shine our lights, not just by preaching the word, but demonstrating the love of Christ in this manner.

Other outreach activities include the start of our Vacation Bible School, where close to 30 students attended. Monthly prayer meetings and bible studies are held in Claremont, where new converts are admonished and taught the word of God. Recently, First United coordinated an evangelical outreach, to serve the local community at large.
